Ayurveda, an ancient method of healing from India, means "the science of life." Ayurveda focuses on how each individual can remain healthy every day. True health is not waiting to go to the doctor until you are sick. Ayurveda teaches you how to understand your body and recognize the imbalances so you can bring the body back into balance before chronic illness sets in. The focus is on physical, mental/emotional and spiritual health. The modalities of healing include massage/bodywork, herbal therapies, nutrition, spiritual practices, yoga, breathing (pranayama) and meditation. Ayurveda will show you that as you age you should actually feel more vivacious because you have increased vitality and energy. The practice of "staying young" in Ayurveda is called Rasayana. Once you have learned what healthy means in your body, you will never go back to unhealthy.
